Service Relationships and Statewide Impact Plan
The heart of the Miss Alabama Organization is rooted in service. From working with state and federal elected officials to building partnerships with organizations like the American Cancer Society, and the Alabama Department of Public Health, I have cultivated relationships that are eager and ready to support our organization during my year of service to amplify our impact across the state.
Hannah's Hope: Finding a Cure for Pediatric Cancer
Alabama Department of Public Health: Building upon my existing partnership and grant relationship with ADPH, I will expand our awareness campaigns through our fourth public education video and family-centered outreach. I will implement childhood cancer once again into the State Action Cancer Plan.
KPIs: Promote fourth public awareness video and reach 1M+ Alabamians. Partner with every hospital in the state to promote childhood cancer awareness.
H.U.G.S. 4 Childhood Cancer: As the President of H.U.G.S., I have big plans for this year to continue expanding my mission of helping other children fighting cancer. I will continue sending care packages to children fighting cancer across the country. I will host my annual H.U.G.S. Golden Gala. I will also host childhood cancer survivorship meetings for collaboration.
KPIs: Raise an additional $100,000 this year. Increase newsletter subscriptions. Provide 100 care packages to childhood cancer fighters.
Kids v. Cancer: I have lobbied on Capitol Hill over 150 times. I will meet with the entire Alabama congressional delegation to share my personal testimony and encourage their support of pediatric cancer.
KPIs: Visit Capitol Hill twice for advocacy. Engage in 25 federal legislative meetings. Create digital calls-to-action to ask Alabamians to support key childhood cancer bills.
American Cancer Society Gold Together for Childhood Cancer: Building upon my service as a national ACS Ambassador, I will reach more patients, donors, and advocates.
KPIs: Keynote speaker at 5 ACS-affiliated events. Fundraise $7,500 for Gold Together. Produce posts about my work with ACS. Continue training 10 Gold Together Youth Mentors in storytelling and advocacy.
American Childhood Cancer Organization: As a national State Coordinator, I oversee state policy actions across the country. I will work with ACCO to create state pediatric cancer research funding bill and continue passing bills in other states.
KPIs: Pass a state pediatric cancer research funding bill. Host a Pediatric Cancer Alabama Advocacy Day.
Hyundai Hope On Wheels: Continue my ambassador relationship with HHOW by being a part of their handprint events at hospitals across the nation and work with them in D.C. advocacy.
KPIs: Produce digital content features tied to HHOW.
Alabama Alliance for Childhood Cancer: I formed this statewide alliance to bring together 15+ Alabama pediatric cancer non-profits. During September, Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, I will spearhead a statewide awareness day, Alabama Gold Out, within schools and businesses, working with the other non-profits and building upon my existing work. We will also pass a State Proclamation with the Governor's office for the seventh year.
KPIs: 2,500 uses of the Alabama hashtag #AlabamaGoldOutDay. Schools from every Alabama county participating in the Alabama Gold Out Day.
MAO National Service Partnerships
American Heart Association: Attend key state events such as Advocacy Day and Heart Ball. Host CPR training event for local titleholders. Fundraise $5,000 for AHA before Miss America.
KPIs: Number of attendees at CPR training. Meeting fundraising goal.
Best Buddies: Fundraise as a Best Buddies State Champion. Interact with Best Buddies Chapters.
KPIs: The amount of school and city chapters visited. Fundraise as a Champion before Best Buddies Alabama Gala in October.
